ATPA and Oldfield Davis announce Telly Award: Best of 25 Years

The Texas Department of Transportation Auto Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) announced it has been honored with the prestigious, national 25th Anniversary Classic Gold Telly Award for its 30-second commercial and public service announcement " She Loves Me."

Originally produced by Oldfield Davis, Inc.-- ATPA's Dallas-based public education firm--in 1995, the spot has aired throughout the state as part of the "Watch Your Car" campaign aimed at reducing auto theft in Texas. Oldfield Davis originally won a Telly Award in 1995 for the spot. The 25th Anniversary Classic Telly marks the 25th year of the competition, which recognizes outstanding work in non-network TV commercials, According to Oldfield Davis president Rachel Davis, "It was an honor to win the first time around in 1995. But to have our work recognized as one of the best TV spots in the country in the last 25 years is just very gratifying. We appreciate ATPA for letting us do great work."

ATPA Director Susan Sampson said, "Not only is 'She Loves Me' an outstanding creative product, it is an effective one. The "Watch Your Car" campaign has been instrumental in reducing auto theft by 51 percent since the Auto Theft Prevention Authority was established in 1991 by the 72nd Legislature. This spot and other
components of the campaign have been used by five other U.S. states and in British Columbia."

Oldfield Davis was founded in 1980 by University of Texas at Austin graduate Rachel Mostert Davis.
